I've been a bride's maid a few times in my life. I've never yet had to buy an official bride's maid dress. Most of my friends are practical and give me a color and all I have to do is find something in that color.
This dress was purchased for the wedding of my dear friends Bran and Allina who got married in 2008 and are now expecting their first child.
Dress: Forever21 - an online purchase, $30 - the top is shear so I'm wearing a vintage slip under the dress.
Shoes: Charles David - $10 at Crossroads last year
Pearls: gift from my mother
Hat: Vintage, gift from my sister
Changing gears a little: I struggle with styling hats. My sister gave me her vintage hat collection recently and I've be trying to work them into my outfits but my hair is so unmanageable sometimes it just never works. So I found a set of hot rollers at Goodwill yesterday (while i was looking for a replacement tripod) and today I attempted to curl my hair. I don't think it made too much of a difference but the rollers were only $3, so it's worth a try.
While I was at Goodwill I found an epic score, a Pampered Chef apple peelers corer slicer! I've wanted one of these since I got married and almost forked over $30 many times. I'm really glad I never purchased one full price because now, I own one, brand new, in box and I only paid $4! Hooray!
