Today I attended my first
cycle chic ride. I wore my empire waist cream lacey dress and debuted the new coat I picked up at Crossroad's yesterday for $20. The shoes are my awesome $10 Urban Outfitter pumps and the scarf is a hand-me-down. I'm also wearing bamboo fiber tights from
Dottie May's Closet.

(Sorry about the pictures, my tripod is still broken)
We met at Fremont Park and rode over to the
historic Sacramento cemetery for a tour. The tour was fascinating with tales of the wild west and lawless early years of Sacramento and the men and women who carved out a city in the chaos.
Like Maria, a beautiful and brilliant saloon owner on K Street during the peak of the gold rush. She was every man's dream then and many wanted to marry her, but she was engaged to a doctor in San Fransisco. One man in particular really wanted to marry her and she continually refused his advances. Until one night while she was entertaining her usual clients at the piano and this suitor slid up next to her on the bench put his arm around her and shoved a knife in between her ribs.
She died that night of blood loss in her bedroom above her saloon.
Her fiance never married and died five years after Maria. He donated his body to science except one piece. His heart was sent to Sacramento and buried next to Maria.

After the tour we rode over to Coffee Garden on Franklin Ave. I'd never been before and it's an excellent little place. I really enjoyed my quiche and the atmosphere was delightful.

I adore that dress. You look so feminine in it, and the camibra adds a nice accent to its creme color. Cute cute cute. DO NOT GET RID OF THIS!!!! Or if you do, give it to me :)
Glad you joined us! It was fun having you on the ride. ;)
Oooh! I love your new coat :) Next time I will be able to make it. I was still recovering or maybe even sleeping off the memories of Neo Crocker. Love your bike !
yes, I like this dress too - i wish my tripod wasn't out of commission or else I'd do some really fun shoots. Oh well. Tomorrow I should get a replacement.
Lorena, thanks so much for organizing such a fun outing. I really enjoyed the tour.
I'm sorry I missed the ride. I was sleeping off my frivolities from the Neo-crocker soiree.
